Topics in Teaching Workshop Series

Running one day each month beginning September and running through November 2025, Topics in Teaching is a series of one-hour workshops planned as short presentation and discussion for TAs. The goal of these workshops is to to develop learning environments that promote well-being, belongingness, and flourishing.

Exploring Pedagogical Wellness: Integrating Teaching and Well-Being for Classroom Success
This interactive workshop introduces the framework of pedagogical wellness, the intentional integration of evidence-based teaching practices and wellness strategies to support both student and instructor well-being. Participants will explore practical approaches to creating a more supportive, engaging, and sustainable learning environment that fosters academic success and holistic wellness in the classroom.

Mindfulness + Teaching
Discover how to incorporate mindfulness into your existing teaching practices to enhance focus, reduce stress, and support the well-being of both instructors and students. This session offers practical strategies to create a more mindful and resilient learning environment.

Navigating Difficult Conversations in Higher Education
Learn strategies for approaching challenging topics and conversations in the classroom and campus settings with confidence, empathy, and clarity. This session provides tools to foster respectful dialogue, manage conflict, and support inclusive learning environments.
