The training was mainly on what privilege means, how we understand it in our university context, and how we take action to create equity.

Bryan Hoppough announced as new ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ HR senior business partner

University of ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ Human Resources has selected Bryan Hoppough to serve in the role as the ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ senior business partner (SBP). Hoppough will transition into the position after serving 26 years with the ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ Air National Guard's 168th Wing at Eielson Air Force Base.

ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ is working to improve its Field Safety Emergency Plans (FSEP) for those traveling to field locations within the United States and abroad. The ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ FSEP is intended to provide ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ travelers with a sound action plan to cope with emergencies that may be encountered during official travel.

Ethics Act compliance and annual disclosure of employment or services outside UA

All University employees (including regular, term, temporary, student and full and part-time faculty and staff) are responsible for complying with the ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ Executive Branch Ethics Act (ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ Statute 39.52). The Act sets standards for how we do our University jobs, and to a lesser extent, may limit our non-University activities.

Friday Focus: Summer daylight enhances celebration season

Happy (almost) Summer Solstice! On June 21, the longest day of summer, Fairbanks can expect a setting sun at 12:47 a.m., which rises again at 2:57 a.m. With just under 22 hours of daylight and some "usable twilight" it gives us a full day here in Fairbanks to enjoy all of the local festivities. For Chukchi Campus, ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ's only campus above the Arctic Circle, Nanooks in Kotzebue will get to experience a full 24 hours of daylight! For many, this is the most exciting part of summer and the buzz of events and time for getting together is even more appreciated after the past several years.

Pride Month Moment: Stonewall Uprising

As we move through Pride Month, it is important to explore the history and struggles and honor the strength of the queer community. On June 28, 1969, the New York Police Department raided the Stonewall Inn, a New York City gay bar. The patrons of Stonewall Inn fought back, catalyzing the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. The next year, marches in multiple cities commemorated the Stonewall Uprising.

Google sunsets Universal Analytics, will replace with Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google's next-generation measurement solution, replaces Universal Analytics on July 1, 2023. During the summer of 2022, websites managed by OIT will change from Universal Analytics to GA4. If your website is not managed by OIT through Omni CMS (formerly OU Campus), your site's owner will be responsible for adding the new GA4 properties that make the change from Universal to GA4 possible.

OIT upgrading service request tool

Users should expect to see a new interface when filling out request forms on the OIT website, but should not expect any interruptions or disruptions in service as a result of this upgrade.
