Chancellor's Action Committee on Enrollment (CACE)

In response to the evolving challenges of university enrollment and the 2024 Enrollment Process Improvement Recommendations Report, ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ has established the Chancellor’s Action Committee on Enrollment (CACE). This committee is dedicated to breaking down silos, fostering collaboration across departments, and implementing actionable improvements to ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµâ€™s enrollment processes.

Committee charge:

Identifying and resolving enrollment process barriers within its authority

Developing strategic solutions to improve student enrollment and retention

Recommending university-wide improvements to the Chancellor

Retention Innovation Hub

At ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ, student success is at the heart of everything we do. The Retention Innovation Hub brings together faculty, staff, and administrators to develop data-driven strategies that support student persistence and degree completion. By identifying barriers, streamlining support services, and fostering a welcoming learning environment, we are committed to helping every student achieve their academic and professional goals.

The Retention Innovation Hub leads and supports a range of projects designed to enhance student success, including:

Gateway Course Project – Improving outcomes in critical first-year courses

Fairness in Retention – Addressing disparities in student persistence and success

First-Year Advising – Strengthening support for new students

Academic Coaching – Providing personalized guidance for academic achievement

Transforming the Foundational Postsecondary Experience (Gardner Initiative) – Enhancing curriculum and student engagement

Focus Forward – A Spring 2025 academic recovery pilot program

1. Improved Advising Consistency & Student Support

  • Clear advisor assignments ensure students receive structured, reliable guidance.
  • Simplified advising roles reduce confusion and duplication of support.
  • Better leverage existing technology for student communication.

2. Enhanced Efficiency & Data Integrity

  • Centralized data entry minimizes errors and inconsistencies in student records.
  • Restricting editing privileges ensures accurate and up-to-date advising information.

3. Better Student-Adviser Relationships

  • Streamlined assignments promote better Student-Advisor relationship.
  • Balanced caseloads allow advisors to provide more personalized and effective support.

4. Optimized Advisor Workloads

  • Defined caseload standards prevent advisor burnout and ensure fair distribution of students.
  • Adjustments for high-need student populations allow advisors to focus resources where they are most needed.

5. Data-Driven Decision-Making & Resource Allocation

  • Regular evaluations ensure advising resources align with student needs.
  • The Spring 2025 assessment will identify whether additional advisors are needed, ensuring proactive resource planning.
