New Student Orientation Schedule

8 a.m.—2 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Residence Hall Move-In Location: Moore, Bartlett and Skarland Complex Your one-stop shop to grab your room key, pick up your PolarExpress card and move into the residence halls.
8 a.m.—3 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Information Station Location: Hess Recreation Center If you’re lost or have a question, stop by the information station for help.
11 a.m.—5 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Orientation Check-In Location: Wood Center Mall Stop by the Orientation Check-In table to receive your nametag, bag and free t-shirt. Students and guests will both check in at this location.
11 a.m.—5 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Campus Tours Location: Moore, Bartlett and Skarland Complex Tours will depart every hour, on the hour, from outside of the Moore, Bartlett and Skarland Complex. The final tour will depart at 4 p.m.
3—4:30 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		CEM Welcome Session Location: Usibelli Building, BP Design Theater This optional event will give new Engineering and Computer Science students (and their families) a chance to meet faculty and college leaders, hear a brief welcome, and start building connections early.
4:30—5 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Earning While Learning Location: Wood Center C/D/E/F Student jobs offer income, career skills, networking, real-world experience, and flexible hours that fit around class schedules. Attend this session to discover on-campus job opportunities, learn how to apply, and see how Career Services can support your success.
5—5:30 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		��Ϻ��Ƶ Alumni Association Welcomes You to Nanook Nation Location: Wood Center C/D/E/F The ��Ϻ��Ƶ alumni team proudly welcomes new students to ��Ϻ��Ƶ. Our ��Ϻ��Ƶ Alumni Association Benefactor Fund helps enhance student experiences by supporting campus groups and programs. We also offer mentoring opportunities through Nanook Network to help connect students and support them from the start of their Nanook journey.

8:30—11 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Battle of the Brains: Trivia Showdown Location: Wood Center Ballroom Test your knowledge and compete in multiple rounds of trivia covering a variety of topics! Prizes will be awarded to the top-scoring teams and the most creative team names. Bring your friends, meet new people and get ready for a fun night of friendly competition.

10:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Orientation Kickoff Location: Fine Arts Complex, Davis Concert Hall Start your ��Ϻ��Ƶ journey at Orientation Kickoff, where you'll hear from university leadership, be welcomed by your academic college and connect with your orientation group. This is your first step into campus life — don’t miss it!
12:30—2 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Lunch Location: Wood Center, Dine 49 Grab a bite to eat with your Orientation group. Make sure you have your PolarExpress card to swipe for your meal.
2—3:30 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Group Time Location: Various locations Get to know your fellow Nanooks in your Orientation Group. Groups will meet across campus — stick with yours so you know where to go.
3:30—5 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		��Ϻ��Ƶ 101 Location: Fine Arts Complex, Davis Concert Hall Learn what it takes to succeed in the classroom — explore the programs, offices and services that will support your studies.
5:30—7:30 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Welcome BBQ Location: Constitution Park Mix and mingle with other students and their families at the Welcome BBQ, sponsored by the Honors College.
7:30—9 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Residence Hall Opening Meetings Location: Moore, Bartlett and Skarland Complex Start connecting with your hallmates and learn how you'll help build a positive and supportive living environment. Your resident assistant will let you know where your floor will meet.
9—11 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Outdoor Movie: Brother Bear Location: Beluga Field Join us for a relaxing outdoor movie night under the stars! Bring a blanket, grab some snacks and enjoy a film with friends. Popcorn, candy and drinks will be provided.

11 a.m.—12:30 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Safety & Support Location: Wood Center Ballroom Join us for an honest conversation about gender equality, healthy relationships and campus safety — all while enjoying delicious s'mores! Attendance at this session exempts students from mandatory online Title IX training.
12:30—2 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Lunch Location: Wood Center, Dine 49 Grab a bite to eat at Dine 49. Make sure you have your PolarExpress card to swipe for your meal.
1:30—6 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Break Out Sessions Location: Wood Center, Dine 49 Choose how you would like to spend your afternoon. Participate in one of the following activities, or find your own ways to begin connecting to our campus and community.
1:30—4 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Ballaine Lake Trip Location: Ballaine Lake Enjoy an afternoon at Ballaine Lake. Participate in water activities or sit back and relax in the sun with friends. A shuttle from the Wood Center lower bus loop takes you from campus straight to the lake.
1:30—4 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Climbing and Belay Certifications Location: Student Recreation Center Interested in climbing? Come earn your belay certification and learn the skills needed to climb ��Ϻ��Ƶ and confidently. A Belay Certification is required to use both the indoor climbing wall and the outdoor ice wall.
2—6 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Shopping Shuttle Location: Walmart & Fred Meyer Hop on the shopping shuttle to purchase any last-minute essentials before starting classes on Monday. The shuttle will pick up students from both the Wood Center lower bus loop and the Moore, Bartlett and Skarland Complex.
2:30—4 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Karaoke Location: Hess Recreation Center Show off your vocal skills or cheer on your friends at Karaoke! Whether you're a seasoned performer or just in it for fun, it's your time to shine.
2:30—4 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Campus Bike Ride Location: Wood Center Join Green Bikes for a guided ride through some of Fairbanks' scenic bike trails and learn how you can rent a bike through the Green Bikes program. A limited number of bikes will be available to borrow at the event, so come early if you need one. Sponsored by Green Bikes.
5—7 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Dinner Location: Wood Center, Dine 49 Grab a bite to eat with your Orientation group — your Orientation Leader will let you know where your group will sit. Make sure you have your PolarExpress card to swipe for your meal.
7:30—10 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Field Night Location: Beluga Field & Patty Ice Arena Get ready for an action-packed evening with live music, a giant slip 'n slide, broom ball, capture the flag and more! Bring your friends, wear clothes you don’t mind getting soaked, and enjoy a night full of outdoor fun and excitement.

9—10 a.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Yoga Class Location: Troth Yeddha’ Park Start your day with a refreshing outdoor yoga session designed to energize your body and calm your mind. Breathe deeply, stretch under the morning sun and enjoy a peaceful start to your day. All levels welcome!

3—5 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Summer Smash Social Location: Wood Center, ��Ϻ��Ƶ Esports Center Come unwind and meet new people at our Esports Super Smash Social! We'll be playing the fun and chaotic Super Smash Bros. game, a great way to make friends without needing any prior video game experience.
2:30—4 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Campus Trail Walk Location: Moore, Bartlett and Skarland Complex Explore the outdoors with a guided walk along campus trails, perfect for getting some fresh air and discovering new spots. The route includes a visit to the disc golf course, so feel free to bring a disc if you’d like to play a few holes. The group will leave from outside the Moore, Bartlett and Skarland Complex.
5—6:30 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Dinner Location: Wood Center, Dine 49 Grab a bite to eat with your Orientation group, your Orientation Leader will let you know where your group will sit. Make sure you have your PolarExpress card to swipe for your meal.
6:30—8 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Nanook Quest Location: Wood Center Team up with your orientation group for a fast-paced scavenger hunt across campus, filled with fun challenges and hidden surprises. Compete for prizes awarded to the quickest team and the group with the most points. And keep your eyes open — there may be scholarship money hidden along the way!
8—10:30 p.m. ��Ϻ��Ƶ time		Wood Center Late Nighter Location: Wood Center Come on down to the central hub of campus activity and enjoy an evening of activities and giveaways. Hungry? We’ll have a pancake breakfast bar for you to snack on.
