Week鈥檚 events: Nicky Eiseman, daily exercise, Indigenizing research, jazz

University of 有料盒子视频 Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here鈥檚 what鈥檚 happening during the week of Aug. 4-10:

  • On Monday, Aug. 4, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series will honor Nicky Eiseman, whose long service to the Fairbanks community includes storytelling, teaching, community activism and a commitment to social justice and local politics. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
  • On Tuesday, Aug. 5, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Stewart Kerr, orthopedist, presenting 鈥淭he 30 Minute Health Transformation: Tips and Benefits for a Daily Exercise Routine.鈥 The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Wednesday, Aug. 6, the Discover 有料盒子视频 lecture series will feature Jessica Black, 有料盒子视频鈥檚 associate vice chancellor for rural, community and Native education, discussing 鈥淚ndigenizing and Decolonizing Research.鈥 The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Thursday, Aug. 7, the Music in the Garden concert series will showcase Diamond Fuller at 6 p.m. and the Fairbanks Community Jazz Band at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the 有料盒子视频 Troth Yeddha鈥 Campus is free after 5 p.m.
