Celebrating the class of 2025
The University of ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ Fairbanks will honor the Class of 2025 during its 103rd commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 3, at 1 p.m. at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks.

Honors recognition
Graduation with Honors
Associate and baccalaureate degree students who earned cum laude and magna cum laude honors wear a gold honor cord, and students who earned summa cum laude honors wear a gold sash. Cumulative grade point averages required for graduating with honors are:
University Honors Scholars
The honors scholars graduation designations require exceptional aptitude. Honors scholars complete credits in specially designed courses and an honors capstone/senior thesis. University Honors Scholars who earned 12 honors credits with a minimum GPA of 3.25 wear a long blue-trimmed and striped gold sash with a single blue and gold honor cord. Honors Scholars with Distinction earned 18 honors credits with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and 40 hours of service. Honors Scholars of Highest Distinction earned 24 honors credits with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and 80 hours of service. These scholars wear the same sash with a double blue and gold honor cord.
Climate Honors Scholars
Climate Honors Scholars engage in a highly interdisciplinary course of environmental education. They seek experiential opportunities throughout ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ
that hone a firsthand knowledge of how the environment is rapidly changing and what communities and scientists are doing to build a better future. Students receiving this recognition wear a twisted cord of green and blue.
Student Leadership Honors and Leadership Distinction
Student Leadership Honors recognition is granted to students who have made significant contributions to the mission of ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ, the surrounding community and the promotion of student life. These students wear a burgundy honor cord. Graduation with Leadership Distinction recognition is granted to students who have displayed a commitment of excellence to themselves, ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓÆµ and their community, and they wear a silver honor cord.
